John Cameron Mitchell Does The Impossible...

.

... and finally gets Nicole Kidman's hair red again!

JA from MNPP here making a couple of assumptions and false statements for entertaining bullshit's sake: first off, I don't know for sure that Nic's dyed her hair for Rabbit Hole, John Cameron Mitchell's film with her and Aaron Eckhart, but I'm assuming so since that thing's filming these days, ain't it? I'm sure one of you Kidman disciples will fill me in if I'm incorrect, or correct, or falling somewhere in between.

And also, it makes for a punchy headline but JCM's hardly accomplished the impossible - Nic's gone back to red for several of her auteur-pals: Baz got her fire-enginey and Jonathan Glazer got her strawberry.

But it feels like forever and it's always a cause to celebrate - I'm a firm advocate of her embracing her unique gingerness - so I don't feel too bad in mis- or over-stating my case. She looks lovely!

oooh John Cameron Mitchell knows no boundaries. Watched "Shortbus" over two weeks ago and it's still floating around in my brain.

Ahh Redheaded Kidman... first exposure to her was in "Practical Magic" and I remember being struck by her sultriness and vulnerability.

Has anyone ever noticed that a Brunette Kidman film doesn't do well financially? Fur, Margot At The Wedding, Potrait of a Lady, Human Stain, Peacemaker, Birthday Girl, Stepford Wives...
I think "The Hours" is the only exception to this.

YES!!!!!!

is exactly what i shouted when i saw the red hair on another site earlier today. I can't believe how i happy i was. I've been hoping she'd go back to the ginge because the blonde washed her out and the red looks sooo much better on her. It doesn't look like a wig, and i hope she keeps the look for a little while. She looks like the Nicole i fell in love with. Gah, i sound like a stalker/Kidmaniac.

and i never got to see RABBIT HOLE on Broadway but i've seen it performed in a class, and it is definitely some powerful stuff. I'm looking forward to it...not more than NINE though.

She looks good as a blonde as well, but venitian blonde, not ultralight blonde

She looks stunning! SO happy she went back to red. I liked her as a darker blonde, but the platinum washed her out.

I love you Nic, forever. <3

I actually read somewhere that Nic's hair is naturally blonde, but that she started dying it red when she was young cause it looked better or something. Don't know if that's true, though. It's contrary to that story she always tells about growing up in Hawaii and feeling weird around all the tan blonde people because she was a pale redhead.

In any case, red looks much better. So yay.

she looks "normal" with redhair. I love redheads! believe me it's Middle Eastern men's biggest fantasy!

Cynthia Nixon is a red head too and she originated the role on Broadway... coincidence?

Nicole ALWAYS use a wig while filming. Something about lights not hurting her hair. Her wigs yse to be great and you can't hardly tell.

It´s funny what red hair on Nicole Kidman can cause. I think she´s the only actress, where everyone goes like "YAY!" (including me) when she changes her hair back to her natural color.
I was stunned when I saw the pictures yesterday and I can´t wait to see her with red hair in "Rabbit Hole".
Red hair for her usually works very successful (see Moulin Rouge = Oscar nomination). So I am definitely curious how this one will turn out.
But for now I am so happy that she went back to be a redhead again. It is so much better and so much more fascinating. Blonde is so usual. I hope she sticks with that hair colour for a while.

If for only this reason, the movie should be considered a grand success.
